Research has shown that this connection to others and your community can have a huge impact on your health.
That’s why inside each YMCA you’ll find a vibrant community, alive with people who are making healthy choices for themselves and helping others do the same.
Discover why so many call us their second home. Our staff and volunteers are here to guide and encourage you to reach your goals, every step of the way. But many people are also surprised by the friendship and support they receive from other Y members.
With programs and fitness classes for the very young to the young at heart, the YMCA is where different generations can get healthier together. We place special emphasis on scheduling our programs so the whole family can find opportunities to be active at the same time in one place.
Everyone has their favourite way of staying fit, so we make sure you have plenty of choice. With most of our Ys featuring a fitness centre, gym and pool, there’s plenty of equipment, classes and activities to keep your workout as routine or varied as you like!
No one should be denied the opportunity to be active because they cannot afford a gym membership. As part of our charitable purpose, financial assistance is available to help reduce or eliminate the costs of being a member.
A YMCA of Eastern Ontario membership provides you with all inclusive access to all three of our facilities, recreation and fitness areas, as well as our non-registered programs. As a member at the YMCA of Eastern Ontario you can:

During this annual event, YMCAs celebrate acts of peace by recognizing individuals and groups who, without any special resources, status, wealth or position, have demonstrated a commitment to building peace within their community or communities elsewhere in the world. Peace-building is core to the YMCA’s commitment to strengthening the foundation of healthy communities and part of the YMCA of Eastern Ontario’s year-round programs.
But that is the sad reality facing many people in our communities. As a charity, we believe everyone deserves the opportunity to lead healthy lives, regardless of where they live or their circumstances.
Donations to the YMCA help us deliver programs that improve health, reduce social isolation and inspire hope.
A healthier tomorrow starts here, with your help.
Your donation will benefit your whole community. Research shows that when people feel a sense of belonging, their health improves - physically, mentally, emotionally and socially. And our communities benefit too. There’s less illness, violence and inequality and more giving and happiness.
That’s why for more than 160 years, we have created centres of community where children, teens and adults can come together to get the support they need to be healthier in spirit, mind and body. Through our financial assistance program, everyone can access the YMCA regardless of their ability to pay the fee.
With your help, we can reverse the trends of chronic disease, childhood obesity, social isolation and remove barriers to health for people across this country.
Together, we can build a healthier Canada.
Lend your support by making a gift today to your YMCA.
The YMCA serves more than 2.25 million people across Canada, and our collective impact at over 1,700 program sites is what truly makes us unique. Our internationally recognized work to reverse the current trends of physical inactivity, childhood obesity, chronic disease, social isolation and youth engagement is rooted in 160 years of building healthier Canadian communities.
We cannot do this work alone. By supporting the YMCA, your organization can help build a healthier community, one person at a time.
If you are interested in sponsoring an event or making a donation, please contact one of our fund development managers and we’ll work with you to identify opportunities that align with your corporate goals.
