Successful Inspire the Future Pickleball Tournament Builds on Momentum News Release

Brockville, ON – July 21, 2025

The YMCA of Eastern Ontario is thrilled to announce the continued success of its annual the Inspire the Future Pickleball Tournament. Held at the Otto Almoslino Courts in Brockville, this year’s event brought together players and supporters from across the region in a day filled with competition, camaraderie, and community spirit.

This year’s tournament saw a remarkable 40% increase over last year, raising $30,900 for the YMCA’s Financial Assistance Program and building on the strong foundation of the inaugural event. This vital program ensures that everyone, regardless of financial circumstances, can access health-promoting programs and services in a welcoming and inclusive environment.

“We’re so proud to see how this tournament has grown in just one year,” said Rob Adams, CEO of the YMCA of Eastern Ontario. “The support from our community means that more children, families, adults, and seniors will have access to programs that support physical, mental, and social well-being.”

The tournament followed a round-robin format with four divisions, offering each player five games, including a championship and consolation round. Games were played to 11 points or a 15-minute time cap. Participants and spectators praised the friendly competition, seamless organization, and joyful energy that defined the day.

Demonstrating their continued dedication to the YMCA’s mission, every member of the YMCA’s Board of Directors made personal donations in support of the event, showcasing their belief in the power of community and the importance of equitable access to YMCA programs.

“Once again, the success of this year’s tournament has shown how much this community cares,” said Adams. “We’re thankful to everyone who helped make the tournament a success, our staff, volunteers, sponsors, donors, and players. Their support truly helps us make an impact. We’re already looking forward to the 2026 tournament and hope to see you all there!”
