YMCA to Provide Emergency Childcare

YMCA of Eastern Ontario to Provide Emergency Childcare

 

Brockville, ON – Working in partnership with Community and Social Services for the United Counties of Leeds and Grenville, the YMCA of Eastern Ontario is opening its Brockville Y for emergency childcare for essential workers.

“Helping our community is what the Y is all about,” said Rob Adams, CEO of the YMCA of Eastern Ontario. “We have been in discussions with officials in Brockville and Kingston throughout the pandemic to see where we can serve, and I am happy that we are able to provide this service and to further strengthen our partnership with the Counties of Leeds and Grenville.”

Brockville YMCA will begin offering emergency childcare on Monday, May 4. Special protocols have been put in place to mitigate against virus transmission, including, but not limited to, a drop-off and pick-up zone for parents outside of the facility, daily screening of children and staff, and extra sanitization of the childcare centre.
