Even during the closure, you can stay active with the YMCA of Eastern Ontario News Release

 

BROCKVILLE & KINGSTON, ON – Following today’s provincial announcement of a return to a modified Level II Covid protocols that includes closing recreation and fitness facilities, the YMCA of Eastern Ontario wants to remind everyone that they can stay active with our online workouts and fitness classes.

“Physical activity has an important role in not only physical health but also in our mental wellness. That’s why since the outset of the pandemic 22 months ago, the YMCA has offered online workouts for people of every fitness and mobility levels,” said Rob Adams, CEO, YMCA of Eastern Ontario. “The successive rounds of Covid variants and closures are taking a toll on everyone, which is why staying active is more important now than ever.”

The recordings are free for everyone to use. People need not be Y members to take advantage of Y expertise. YMCA Canada has also created a number of videos with activities that you can do at home with your children as well as wellness videos.

Adams added: “This is a tough slog for everyone and I hope people are able to take some time to be active in whatever way works best for them and to stay connected with family and friends. Our mental health depends on it.”

As per the provincial orders, the YMCA of Eastern Ontario will close at the end of business on January 4 and expects to re-open on January 26.
