Information for YMCA of Eastern Ontario and City of Kingston Partnership for the Kingston East Community Centre (KECC) Fitness Facility

The YMCA of Eastern Ontario has partnered with the City of Kingston to manage the City’s fitness facility at the Kingston East Community Centre.

As part of a collective with other community organizations, the centre will provide a variety of services for all ages. These include drop-in gym activities, exercise and wellness programs, children's pre-school programs, youth and seniors art programs and cooking classes.

The YMCA will staff the fitness centre and provide instructor-led fitness classes.

KECC

This community facility offers a gymnasium, fitness centre, community kitchen, multi-purpose rooms, meeting rooms, a splash pad and an outdoor rink.

It is open seven days a week from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. Front desk staff will be available from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

What does this mean for YMCA members?

YMCA members will now have access to the new KECC as well as Artillery Park, Invista Centre and the Memorial Centre Outdoor Waterpark.

YMCA members can participate in unstructured drop-in City-facilitated classes and programs:

  • Fit-classes
  • Aquafit
  • Public swims
  • Pickleball
  • Badminton

Some classes and programs require pre-registration and an online account to register.

What does this mean for City of Kingston members?

Fit Pass members (including SPARK Fit Pass members) can access YMCA facilities (both in Kingston and Brockville) and the new KECC.

Wellness Pass members can upgrade their membership with the City of Kingston to a Fit Pass to be able to access the YMCA and KECC

When accessing a YMCA facility, Fit Pass/SPARK Fit Pass membership cards will be imported into the Y’s scanning system, and individuals will scan their membership card at the Y facilities.

How to access programs

At KECC, scan your YMCA membership card in the fitness centre.

At Artillery Park or Invista Centre, YMCA members will be added to the City of Kingston system and provided with a City of Kingston membership card that will provide access to drop-in programs as well as to online access for pre-registered (drop in) programs.
