Dear Parents and Guardians:
As you know, the provincial government announced a temporary province-wide lockdown on April 1 and a subsequent announcement of a state-of-emergency and a return to online learning for students for an undermined amount of time. Our priority has always been the safety of everyone who comes to the YMCA and we continue to support the necessary steps to reduce the spread of COVID-19.
I am writing to provide you with details of how this affects our childcare and school-age care services.
For children enrolled in childcare, programs and fees will continue as usual.
School-age care (SAC) will not be offered during this period. SAC fees will be not be drawn during the closure and the payment made in April will be adjusted and applied as a credit when we re-open. There may be changes to billing depending on date of opening and while the payment will automatically resume, we will notify you with details about our re-opening at that time.
We will also be resuming emergency childcare services at Wright Crescent and Ecole Sir John A Macdonald. Sign-up is only accepted through the City’s website. Registration will be live starting April 19.
While your children are at home, the YMCA has online activities and gym class for youth that you can access here.
As always, we will share information on the news page of our website and through our social media accounts. As the situation evolves, we are committed to keeping you up-to-date.
